Jade and Diego opted for a late summer destination wedding in a bucolic villa only minutes away from Siena.Â
Dating back to the 18th century, the villa creates a matchless atmosphere for a country-chic wedding ceremony and reception. The venue offers wonderful outdoor spaces with views on the countryside, a gorgeous garden and a swimming pool. Indoor spaces offer a typical Tuscan vibe, with exposed wooden beams and stonework. An unforgettable weekend in Siena
Jade and Diego’s wedding weekend in Siena began with a nice welcome dinner where they tasted some typical dishes and products paired with excellent local wines.Â
The first day was packed with fun activities, starting with a private walking tour of Siena. It’s the perfect way to experience Siena’s unique spirit with a local and enthusiastic guide. The couple walked among the city’s artistic and architectural wonders, learning stories and legends. From Piazza del Campo, home to the world-famous Palio horse race, and the Duomo, Siena’s stunning cathedral, to hidden treasures far from the crowded tourist areas.
For lunch we booked a table in one of the best trattorias in town. The charcuterie board was a hit: Tuscan ham, salami, finocchiona IGP and local cheeses served with bread and focaccia was the best way to regain strength after the long morning walk! Since Jane and Diego were already in love with Tuscan cuisine, their trip to Siena couldn’t end without a stop in one of its many gastronomic shops abounding with delicious local products. They ended up buying lots of tasty items and souvenirs including jams, cured meats and cheeses. Their friends back home will definitely be thankful!
The afternoon was all about exploring the countryside. We planned a Vespa tour, the perfect opportunity to feel like a true Italian. Two hours of fun driving through the rolling hills of the Chianti hills, among olive groves, vineyards, cypresses, and picture-perfect views.Â
The couple then headed to a winery, where we had booked a private tour of the vineyards and the wine cellars. They tasted some of the best wines of the region, including the famous Brunello di Montalcino, known for its finesse and longevity. The day ended with a gourmet dinner under the Tuscan stars. Then, it was time to get some rest before the big day.
The wedding day
Jane and Diego got married with a civil ceremony on a sunny, beautiful September morning. We wanted to transport them into an enchanted garden wedding with a romantic, dreamy aesthetic. Everything was decorated with flowers and petals, and there was a huge flower arch right where the couple would exchange vows.Â
The color palette plays a huge role in setting the tone for a wedding day. To create a magical garden wedding aesthetic we used pastel colors, like blush pink, lilac and pale yellow.
The civil ceremony was performed by the Vice-Mayor and we also provided a Spanish interpreter.Â
It was a very touching ceremony. The couple added their own readings, music and personal vows. The ceremony reflected their personalities and resulted in plenty of laughter and happy tears. Our photographer was able to capture every heartfelt moment. Reception decorations featured hanging lamps, fresh floral arrangements and candles.
The couple wanted to add some character therefore we opted for some unconventional seating: picnic blankets, bales of hay and wooden crates helped create a truly original setting! Moreover, ice-cream and cocktail stations were placed near the pool. The menu, prepared with all love and care by one of the best Tuscan chefs, mixed traditional Italian dishes revisited, with a contemporary and modern touch. The cake had three tiers and was strawberry and vanilla flavored.Â
As the sun began to fade, it was time for friends and family to follow the newlyweds on the dancefloor to celebrate their wedding to the rhythm of music. Our work was done but Jane and Diego’s adventure together had just started.Â
